From the Brazilian Rain Forest comes Pau D'Arco, a wonderful herb. In the l960's Dr. Teodora Meyer, Professor of Botany and Plant Geography of the National University of Tucuman in Argentina, and Dr. Prats Ruiz, treated patients with this herb with fantastic results. The Brazilian newspapers and magazines devoted whole pages to the marvelous cures attributed to Pau D'Arco. Dr. Prats Ruiz tells of a woman living on the La Corona Sugar Plantation suffering from Cancer of the Womb. She was in such pain that she had wished to throw herself under the train that passed close by her home. After taking the herb for 10 days, the constant bleeding stopped and she no longer experienced pain. The doctor who attended her says that she is now perfectly well. Near the end of l960, a medical doctor whose brother was dying of Cancer in the Municipal Hospital in Santo Andre, Brazil, took the bark, boiled it in white wine, mixed the still-hot brew with orange juice, and gave it to his brother. His brother's pain disappeared almost immediately, and he was able to sleep soundly. After taking Pau D'Arco for a month, he was discharged after a thorough examination found no trace of cancer. After this startling development, the physicians at that hospital decided to break the rules (by using this herb) for the benefit of other terminal patients. In l967 a publication in Rio de Janeiro carried two very long illustrated articles about this remedy. The Brazilian Cancer Society went wild with rage upon reading the account of the cures described and issued orders to forbid the doctors at the Santo Andre Municipal Hospital from any further use of the herb. But the city fathers at Santo Andre would not agree to that. The bark of the Pau D'Arco was effecting rapid cures among the many categories of patients who had been jamming the hospital and costing the city a lot of money (this was a "free" hospital with its expenses paid out of the budget of that community of 250,000 people on the outskirts of the city). And now, thanks to the tree bark, the hospital was half empty, the costs were down, and the councilmen were able to vote themselves a long-delayed salary hike.

How can one herb do so, so much ?

This herb is a powerful tonic and blood builder which increases the hemoglobin content and number of red blood corpuscles. It strengthens the organic defenses to give the body VITALITY. It REVITALIZES the body by creating new vital elements and new normal cells. It also increases resistance in the body and regulates the body's overall function. In l982, a man from Illinois had what the doctors called "Mixed Cancer" (Hodgkins and Lymphopenia). He had everything against him. A biopsy revealed that the cells were dead in his hip. He had suffered pain for about nine months until he could no longer stand it. He then entered the Veterans Hospital in June of l982 and took numerous tests and x-rays. The doctors also told him that he had holes in the pelvic bone and his ribs. They put him on crutches because of the fear of the pelvic bone breaking. He took cobalt treatment which stopped the growth and pain. He became acquainted with and very faithfully taking vitamin, mineral and herb supplements, food enzymes, and a fresh live food diet without meat. In October of l982 he began a double potency of PauD'Arco. In February l983 he was examined by the doctors and they found that the hip was completely healed and the cancer in his ribs and pelvic bone was gone.

In l983 a man was extensively tested and x-rayed in San Francisco and it was confirmed he had an extremely fast-acting cancer of the same type that Steve McQueen died of. He was told he might have 6 months to live and that there was no treatment available that would help. So he launched into nutrition.
