COLOSTRUM - BABY'S FIRST PERFECT MEAL
Colostrum is the first liquid that babies suckle when first born. It is a clear liquid which is full of growth factors and immune factors. It is produced at birth and for about 12 hours before the mother’s milk starts flowing. After the first 12 hours you get “transitional milk,” which dilutes any colostrum still present and changes its composition. The colostrum sets the baby up for growth and survival.
